22 December: Kaiserslautern - Pisa

Wednesday: Check in

After settling into your seat you will lean back and relax while your comfortable coach whisks you away to Italy. Don’t forget the essentials for your overnight ride. Blankets, pillows, power banks, snacks and drinks will all help make your overnight journey more enjoyable. (Overnight Onboard)

23 December: Pisa - Florence - Rome

Arrival in Pisa and your opportunity for breakfast and sightseeing. Later on you will continue to Florence for an orientation tour highlighting the city's most famous landmarks (Overnight Rome)

24 December: Rome - The Vatican Museums - Midnight Mass

Time on your own leisure, or join the group on an optional tour* by a licensed local guide of the Vatican Museums & The Sistine Chapel. In the afternoon, you will embark on a city tour of ancient Rome. There is also the opportunity for midnight mass at St Peter's Cathedral. (Overnight Rome)

25 December:  St Peters Square - Sorrento

This morning you have the unique opportunity for the traditional Papal Christmas Blessing at St Peter's Square. In the afternoon you will  travel southwards to the Bay Of Naples and picturesque Sorrento for your next overnight stay. Enjoy the evening at your own leisure or perhaps by attending a traditional Tarantella Show* (Overnight Sorrento)

26 December: Amalfi Coast and Positano

Enjoy the day exploring Sorrento, or join us on a full-day excursion* to the Island of Capri, where Roman Emperors had their elaborate palaces with stunning views of the Bay. Later this afternoon, we travel along the famous and spectacular Amalfi coast to Positano. (Overnight Sorrento)

27 December: Pompeii - Bari

 Morning visit of the forgotten city of Pompeii and one of the best-preserved Roman cities. We then continue to Bari on the Adriatic coast to board our overnight cruise to Patras. (Overnight at Sea)

28 December: Patras - Athens

After your morning arrival at Patras you will continue to Athens for an orientation tour followed by hotel check in. Joined by a local guide you will tour both of ancient and modern Athens. 29 December: Delphi to Igoumenitsa

On the way to Igoumenitsa you will visit Delphi. A guided tour by a licensed local guide and visit to the Museum will once again time have you reflecting on the ancient culture. You will continue to Igoumenitsa to board your overnight cruise to Ancona, Italy. (Overnight at Sea)

30 December: Ancona - Padova

Enjoy the sea air this morning on the Adriatic Sea sea. You will arrive in Italy this afternoon, where you will continue your journey to Padova and check-in at your hotel.  (Overnight Padova)

31 December: Venice

A waterbus will take you into Venice for an orientation tour to St Mark's Square. Arrangements can be made for a romantic and charming gondola ride*.  An opportunity* for a farewell dinner will culminate this incredible journey (Overnight Padova)

1 Jan : Verona -  Return to Kaiserslautern

On your way back to Kaiserslautern, you will stop in Verona, the “City of Love”, where you will find both Roman Ruins and Juliet's Balcony.  Your trip home will take you through the scenic Swiss Alps.

Cancellation Policy:

  • 10% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or prior to Friday, November 19
  • 40% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Saturday, November 20
  • 50% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Tuesday, November 30
  • 70% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Tuesday, December 7
  • 100% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Tuesday, December 14
     
  • In the event that an individual passenger is not able to participate in a confirmed trip due to COVID restrictions placed on the passenger, full cancellation penalties may be applied based on the date of the customer's cancellation.
     
  • No refunds will be offered to passengers who are denied boarding or are removed from a trip for failure to follow COVID procedures.
     
  • In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.

COVID Precautions (Current as of 1 December 2021.  May be superseded by Local/State/Federal level laws): 

  • Effective 24 November, 2021 and continuing until further notice, all Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation trips fall under the German 2G rule:
    • All persons 18 years of age or older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered from COVID-19
    • Children 12-18 years of age must be vaccinated against COVID-19recovered from COVID-19, or show proof of a negative COVID-19 test.
    • Persons who cannot be vaccinated against the coronavirus for medical reasons (with a qualified medical certificate and children up to and including the age of 11 are exempt.
  • Effective 6 November, 2021, all trips are departing from Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation, Pulaski Barracks, bldg. 2905
     
  • In the event that an individual passenger is not able to participate in a confirmed trip due to COVID restrictions placed on the passenger, full cancellation penalties may be applied based on the date of the customer's cancellation.
     
  • All participants are required to be in compliance with the rules for their destination and all countries of transit as listed in the Travel Planner on https://reopen.europa.eu at the time of departure. 
     
  • All Travel/COVID Documentation is the responsibility of the passenger.
  • PCR and RAT (Rapid Antigen Tests) are the only approved testing methods. Self tests are not authorized for international travel.
  • No refunds will be offered to passengers who are denied boarding or are removed from a trip for failure to follow COVID procedures.  
  • Trip timelines and schedule and COVID precautions are subject to change at any time.
  • Masks covering your nose and mouth are required when boarding, disembarking or inside ODR vehicles.
  • Hands must be sanitized before boarding ODR vehicles.
  • Enter and exit through the rear door only.
  • Seats may be assigned by ODR in advance to promote physical distancing and contact tracing. Requests for specific seats are not being accepted.
