The Valued Added Tax (VAT) Office, Bldg. 273 on Rhine Ordnance Barracks, has extended its hours for customer service. As of April 1, the ROB VAT Office will be open until 5 p.m.
Hours of Operations are now Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed Saturday, Sunday and federal holidays.
VAT is an indirect tax on the consumption of goods and services in the economy. In Germany the amount paid for merchandise includes 19 % value added tax (VAT). The VAT can be refunded if the merchandise is purchased by a DOD U.S. customer.
