Youth Center

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Programs are free CYS designated program geared to accommodate youth who are in 6th – 12th grades, typically 11 – 18 years old in the Youth Center at Landstuhl. The Youth Center offer fun-filled afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Free programs are offered daily after school and in the afternoons but some fees may apply for special activities such as  Winter Adventure Program, Spring Adventure Program, Summer Camp, Summer Adventure Program, Morning Care on School Out Days, lock-ins and various other activities. Programs and activities are planned to meet the four Youth Program Service Areas: Sport, Fitness and Health; Arts, Recreation and Leisure; Life Skills, Citizenship and Leadership; and Mentoring, Education and Support Services.

There are special activities for youth scheduled on a continual basis, including social activities and field trips. CYS programs utilize partnerships with 4-H Clubs and Boys and Girls Clubs of America to bring enhanced curriculum and other opportunities for growth and development to participants. Programs are intended to offer positive alternatives for military and civilian youth in the KMC during parental duty hours.

Description

Atrium( Common Area)

This is a place for youth to relax and play pool, foosball or choose from a selection of board games. Youth can challenge each other on PlayStation 4, XBox 1 or computers available in the atrium while the Technology Lab is closed for Power Hour (Homework and Academic Program). 

Youth Technology & Academic Lab

Academic help, computers and a quiet area are available daily for Power Hour from 3:00 pm – 5:30 pm in the Youth Technology and Academic Lab. After 5:30 pm, the room is available for other activities.

Art Room This room is utilized for art instruction and arts and crafts projects. Youth can express their creative side and grow their talents. 
Teen Room  Various Club meetings are held in the Teen Room. At all other times, this is a teens only zone (13 – 18 yrs) with space to chill and socialize. A TV for games and movies is available. 
Kitchen of the Culinary Arts  A professional grade kitchen is utilized daily for culinary and baking projects. Youth are encouraged to participate and hone their kitchen skills. 
All Purpose Room  A full-sized basketball court can also be used for tennis, volleyball or divided for multiple simultaneous activities. 
Outdoor Areas 

A covered pavilion complete with ping pong tables, pool table and picnic tables is available for use. Also outdoors is a basketball court and stadium seating. The enormous grill is a perfect place for youth to learn how to make burgers.

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Programs is an affiliate of Boys and Girls Club of America and participates in many of their grant and scholarship opportunities, using their curriculum to enhance our programs.

Teen Shuttle

USAG Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Programs operates the Teen Shuttle. The Teen Shuttle is a free service available for youth 6th – 12th grade who are registered with Army Child, Youth and School Services. For additional information regarding the Teen Shuttle and to obtain a copy of the schedule, please contact Landstuhl Youth Center or Parent Central Services.

Youth Sponsorship

Sponsors for your middle school or high school teens are available either through the youth program or school.

Army Youth Sponsorship Program

The Youth Sponsorship Club can help your teen learn about their new community and make new friends. Getting involved quickly helps children and teens fit in and feel less stress associated with their PCS move. All it takes to join the club is a visit to the school age or youth center or contact the School Liaison Officer.

Please send an email to the School Liaison Officer (SLO) to request a sponsor. Also, you can download the Youth Sponsor Request Form, complete and include any additional information that might be helpful to the sponsorship staff in the assignment process as they attempt to pair you with a sponsor whom you will be most compatible with.

4. What is the age restriction for the Youth Center Activity Rooms?

We accommodate youth in grades 6-12.

5. What clubs are offered?

The Youth Centers offer various clubs for youth in grades 6-12, to include: Keystone Club, Torch Club, S.M.A.R.T Girls, Passport to Manhood, Youth of the Year and much, much more. Please contact the Rheinland-Pfalz Youth Centers for further information.

6. Are all of the programs offered through the Youth Centers free? If not, how much do they cost?
