The Landstuhl Youth Center is a facility for youth in grades 6th-12th that offers a wide range of programs and activities Monday through Friday, after school. This free program is available to youth who have a military affiliation in Germany. Homeschooled youth, and youth who attend either a German or DODEA school are welcome to join. LYC gives youth access to free snacks, staff-led activities to include cooking, art and recreational sports as well as access to video gaming areas. LYC also boasts a room dedicated to academics and offers homework help and support, math tutoring and other high yield learning activities. LYC hosts special events for youth to enjoy as well as field trips during seasonal breaks and school-out days. Trips do have an associated cost for parents. Registration for LYC may be done in person either at Parent Central Services located on Rhine Ordnance Barracks in Building 162 or directly with LYC located on Landstuhl Post in Building 93812.
There are special activities for youth scheduled on a continual basis, including social activities and field trips. CYS programs utilize partnerships with 4-H Clubs and Boys and Girls Clubs of America to bring enhanced curriculum and other opportunities for growth and development to our children and youth. Programs are intended to offer positive alternatives that will minimize "at risk" behavior during parental duty hours.
LYC staff can also assist with registration virtually via the email provided below. Please note that youth who do not attend a DODEA school will be required to provide proof of immunizations prior to attending.
Contact LYC for more information regarding the Teen Shuttle that picks up from KMS and KHS Monday-Friday on regular school days and RMS and RHS on Mondays and Fridays. Reach out to LYC for details or via email at RLPLYC@army.mil.
