Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation and Baumholder Outdoor Recreation have teamed up to make it even easier for you to ski and snowboard the Alps this ski season. The same adventures begin at your choice of either Smith or Pulaski Barracks.

Open your ski season with a once in a lifetime ski weekend celebrating the snow in Ischgl, Austria and save $20 per person with our new Early Bird Discount on Day Trips!

In addition to skiing, snowboarding, winter walking, and sledding, Ischgl hosts many major events, including the Top of the Mountain Season Opening Concert.  Spend Thanksgiving Saturday skiing and riding this mega resort with up to 239 kilometers of slopes, including runs up to 11 kilometers in length on both sides of the Swiss/Austrian border and when the lifts close for the night, just make your way across the street to an open air performance by British pop-princess Ellie Goulding. Your lift pass is your concert ticket, so you won’t have to  worry about getting into the show. 

Every season opener at Ischgl is a once in a lifetime experience. Spaces on this popular event are extremely limited. Adventures begin here! Whether you board the bus in Kaiserslautern or Baumholder, you will enjoy skiing or snowboarding at Ischgl when your ski trip begins at Army Outdoor Recreation!

Price:

  • Early Bird Registration 14 or more days prior to departure: $129 per person
  • Full Price registration 13 or fewer days prior to departure: $149 per person
     
  • Snow pants rental: $5
  • 2 hour adult beginner ski or snowboard lesson: $25 p.p. based on instructor availability

Trip Includes:

  • Round trip transportation

What to Bring:

  • Skis/Snowboard, boots, poles
  • Hat or helmet, sunglasses or goggles
  • Waterproof outerwear/gloves
  • Multiple layers of inner clothing

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations requested 48 hours prior to trip departure will receive a 90% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to departure will receive a 50% refund.
  • There is no refund for no-shows or cancellations made less than 12 hours prior to departure.
     
  • In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.
