Whether you choose to explore the Danish Capital city on your own or take a guided orientation tour with your tour manager is up to you, but either option will allow you to visit this intriguing city on the Baltic Sea. A second city tour will familiarize you with Göthenburg, Sweden on Saturday. On Sunday an early morning departure will take you to Oslo where you will board a ship returning to Germany. Estimated Itinerary

Thursday: Departure

Army Outdoor Recreation makes it easy for you to visit Denmark and Sweden. Our private charter bus will pick you up at your choice of Pulaski or Smith Barracks, where both locations have plenty of free, on-post parking.  You wont have to meet a bus at a dark, out of the way, park-and-ride in the middle of the night or make multiple stops to pick up more passengers or consolidate busses along the way. After settling into your seat, all you have to do is lean back and relax while your comfortable coach takes you straight to Copenhagen, the first destination in your multi-city trip. Don’t forget the essentials for your overnight ride. Blankets, pillows, power banks, and drinks will all help make your journey to the capital of Denmark relaxed and restful.

Friday: Copenhagen

Whether you prefer guided tours or individual exploration, you will have a great day in Copenhagen. Tour options include a guided orientation tour of the city before check in at your four star hotel or an optional excursion to the Roskilde Viking Museum. If you prefer individual explorations, many alternatives await you. Copenhagen is the home of the statue of The Little Mermaid and the daily changing of the Royal Guard ceremony takes place every day at noon at the Ameliensborg Palace. The Nyhavn district is a colorful and picturesque location for lunch or dinner while Tivoli Gardens, the worlds oldest amusement park, is just a few hundred meters from your hotel in the center of the city and remains open late.

Saturday: Gothenburg

This morning you will continue to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city and primary gateway to the west who’s connection to the sea is shown in its maritime city flair. Your hotel in the old city will be a great home base to use for exploring Gothenburg’s downtown district. You are sure to taste something worth remembering in Gothenburg; five restaurants in Gothenburg have been awarded Michelin Stars. Auto enthusiasts may wish to visit World of Volvo where you can take a tour of the factory producing the next generation of electric vehicles. If you didn’t get enough adrenaline at Tivoli Gardens, you may want to go to Liseburg, Scandinavia’s largest amusement park, just outside of downtown.

Sunday: Overnight Mini-Cruise

The sister ships operated by Colorlines, Color Magic and Color Fantasy are the largest cruise-ferries in the world and make the overnight sailing from Oslo to Kiel both comfortable and fun. You will get a good nights sleep while you sail to Germany and your floating hotel has 12 restaurants and bars, shows, shops, a casino, a waterpark and more to keep you entertained during your 20 hour crossing to Kiel.

Monday: Return to Germany

After your overnight crossing of the Baltic Sea, you will arrive in the German port of Kiel. Relax as the bus returns you to your starting point with an estimated arrival this evening.
