Book workshop: The Gift of Imperfection

Join us and enhance your well-being by learning how to experience more wholehearted living at the Book Workshop: The Gift of Imperfection Feb. 25 from 9 -11 a.m. at the Massage and Yoga Studio, Bldg. 2899 on Pulaski Barracks.

  • Cost is $10, and tickets should be purchased in advance at the Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation, Bldg. 2905 on Pulaski Barracks, with operating hours from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • This workshop is led by Dr. Kristen Soltis-Tyler, MD, MPH.

Wholehearted living is about engaging in our lives from a place of worthiness. It means cultivating the courage, compassion, and connection to wake up in the morning and think, “No matter what gets done and how much is left undone,” I am enough. It’s going to bed at night thinking, “Yes, I am imperfect and vulnerable and sometimes afraid, but that doesn’t change the truth that I am also brave and worthy of love and belonging.”

Workshop Objectives:

1) Investigate the foundational concepts that apply to understanding wholehearted living.

a. Explore courage, compassion, and connection and how they help develop worthiness.

b. Define love, belonging and worthiness and what these mean to us.

c. Identify the things that get in the way of wholehearted living.

2) List the guideposts for wholehearted living and formulate how to incorporate them into our personal life experiences.

** Prior to the workshop (if possible) **

1) Complete the Wholehearted Inventory: https://brenebrown.com/wholeheartedinventory/

2) Read The Gifts of Imperfection by Brenê Brown.
