Kick off your holiday shopping season on the Saturday after Thanksgiving with a double-feature day trip to two of Germany’s most beautiful walled cities, Rothenburg and Dinkelsbühl!

Your journey begins in Dinkelsbühl, a spectacular medieval walled city famously voted Germany's most beautiful old town. Here, you will experience a highly authentic holiday atmosphere. The town's enchanting Christmas market is nestled inside the historic Spital courtyard, surrounded by towering ramparts, brightly painted patrician houses, and winding cobblestone streets. It is the perfect setting to warm up with a mug of Glühwein and shop for handmade Franconian crafts.

Next, we travel up the famous Romantic Road to Rothenburg, o.d.T., the German city most closely associated with Christmas. Known worldwide for its intact medieval architecture, Rothenburg is home to Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Village and one of the oldest Christmas Markets in Germany. You will have plenty of time to explore the outdoor market on opening weekend, take stunning photos from the historic city walls, and taste the local delicacy: a delicious world-famous Rothenburg Snowball stuffed with one of many fillings!

Cancellation Policy:

  • Cancellations requested 48 hours prior to trip departure will receive a 90% refund.
  • Cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to departure will receive a 50% refund.
  • There is no refund for no-shows or cancellations made less than 12 hours prior to departure.
     
  • In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.
