Estimated Itinerary
Thursday: Departure
Army Outdoor Recreation makes your trip to the Spanish Coast seamless. A private charter bus will pick you up from your choice of Pulaski or Smith Barracks, where free on-post parking is available. Forget about late-night rendezvous or multiple stops; our bus heads straight to Spain! Settle in, lean back, and relax as you begin your overnight journey. Don't forget your essentials—blankets, pillows, power banks, and snacks will help ensure a comfortable ride.
Friday: Arrival and Free Day
Your weekend of fun begins as you arrive and explore the lively beaches and promenade of Santa Susanna. Your four-star resort, located directly on the beachfront promenade, will serve as your home base. With its pools and spa facilities, the hotel provides a perfect complement to the 75 meter wide golden sand beach. You'll find a wide variety of water sports at centers along the coast, including jet ski, paddleboard, and kayak rentals, as well as opportunities for scuba diving. The vibrant waterfront is also lined with countless restaurants and bars, offering endless entertainment options for everyone.
Saturday: Free Day or Barcelona and Montserrat Monastery
Saturday features an optional guided tour of Barcelona. Since its preparations for the 1992 Olympic Games, Barcelona has become one of the world's most popular city destinations. From the waterfront’s Columbus Monument to the lookout terraces atop Parc Montjuïc, the Catalan capital is filled with UNESCO World Heritage sites and historic buildings. The city is renowned for its ornate Catalan Modernisme architecture, most famously designed by Antoni Gaudí, including the world-famous Sagrada Família basilica. This afternoon, you will visit the Abbey of Santa Maria de Montserrat. Perched over 4,000 feet above the valley on the "Serrated Mountain," this culturally significant monastery offers breathtaking views that can, on a clear day, reach all the way to the island of Mallorca.
Sunday: Free Day
Today is yours to enjoy as you wish. The nearby train station provides easy access if you'd like to return to Barcelona on your own. You can also explore the region's diverse offerings with activities and excursions booked through the hotel or third-party vendors, which provide excellent ways to experience the Iberian Peninsula beyond the beach.
Monday: Return to Germany
After breakfast, you will depart for Germany. Relax on the bus as it travels through France, arriving back at your point of origin this evening.
