Thursday: Departure

Army Outdoor Recreation makes your trip to the Spanish Coast seamless. Settle into your comfortable private coach for the overland journey to Spain. After departing from your choice of Pulaski or Smith Barracks, all you need to do is lean back and relax as we travel through the night towards the Spanish border. Don't forget your essentials—blankets, pillows, power banks, and snacks will help ensure a comfortable ride.

Friday: Arrival in Santa Susanna & A Full Day of Sun

Wake up to the Spanish sunshine as you arrive in Santa Susanna on Friday morning. Upon arrival at your four-star hotel, you'll be able to conveniently store your bags, allowing you to start your vacation immediately. Your first mission: start soaking up the Mediterranean atmosphere! With the whole day stretching ahead of you, you can hit the beach, explore the vibrant promenade, or find a great spot for an authentic tapas lunch. Later, you'll enjoy your first Catalonian dinner, whether you choose the convenience of the hotel or explore the lively promenade for a local culinary experience.

Saturday: Your Choice - Barcelona & Montserrat or a Free Day

On Saturday, the choice is yours. You can enjoy a full free day to relax and explore Santa Susanna at your own pace, or you can join our included guided day trip to discover the treasures of Catalonia.

If you choose the tour, your day begins in Barcelona, where you will experience the city's unique architectural soul. You'll stand in awe before the towering spires of Gaudí’s unfinished masterpiece, the Sagrada Família, for an unforgettable photo opportunity. The tour will also give you a feel for the vibrant energy of the city, from the historic Gothic Quarter to the bustling waterfront.

From there, the adventure continues as we ascend the "Serrated Mountain" to the stunning Montserrat Abbey. Perched dramatically in the jagged peaks, this historic Benedictine monastery is a significant pilgrimage site. Here, you can explore the basilica to see the revered "Black Madonna" statue, 'La Moreneta,' and take in the breathtaking panoramic views from this high-altitude retreat before we return to the coast.

Sunday: Coastal Adventure or Resort Relaxation

Today is yours to embrace the lifestyle of the Costa Maresme. Your four-star resort is perfectly positioned directly on the beachfront promenade, offering immediate access to the 75-meter-wide golden sands of Playa de Santa Susanna.

• For the Active: Visit the nearby water sports centers to rent jet skis, paddleboards, or kayaks. The crystal-clear Mediterranean waters also offer excellent opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling.
