Oktoberfest Weekend at Edelweiss Lodge and Resort

Enjoy the best Oktoberfest trip in the Kaiserslautern Community!

Note: This event has already passed.

Nobody wants to sit next to “That Guy, who’s been getting his Oktoberfest on for the last 12 hours” while riding an overnight party bus or party train home from the 189th Munich Oktoberfest.  You can enjoy the ride both ways and spend Oktoberfest Weekend at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort in Garmisch when you travel with Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation! This trip makes Oktoberfest easy for everyone.  Your Friday morning ride to Garmisch puts you in position for your Saturday shuttle to and from the festival grounds where you can enjoy as much or as little of the world famous Oktoberfest as you want to.  Before Saturdays festivities, you will be able to enjoy Friday afternoon and evening in Garmisch, maybe by riding the cable car to the top of the Zugspitze or hiking the Partnachklamm.  A full nights rest after the fest allows you a relaxed and comfortable ride home on Sunday.  Instead of an overnight bus packed with party people you will be able to relax and enjoy the ride after a refreshing nights sleep in Garmisch.

Oktoberfest is a huge event and these trips fill up fast. Don’t miss the 189th Oktoberfest. Contact Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation today to reserve your space!

Estimated Itinerary

Friday: Kaiserslautern to Garmisch

An early morning departure from Kaiserslautern will place you in Garmisch by the middle of the day.  While your rooms will not be guaranteed to be ready until this afternoon, you can drop your luggage off with the front desk at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort and enjoy being in the heart of the Bavarian Alps.  Multiple ways to get to the top can take you to glacier at the top of the Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak, or to the clear AlpspiX viewing platform which overlooks the beautiful Bavarian village.  After exploring Garmisch, your room will be ready for you to check in and you will be perfectly positioned for a short and stress free ride to the Oktoberfest fairgrounds, an hour away in Munich.

Saturday: Oktoberfest

After filling your stomach at the breakfast buffet, you will board our private transfer bus for a short ride to Munich and the world’s largest Volksfest.  Munich has been celebrating the Oktoberfest since 1810, when the guests at the royal wedding of Crown Prince Ludwig to Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen had such a good time that they decided to do it again every year.  Whether you spend your day in one of the tents or on the midway enjoying the carnival rides, games and food stands, or even wandering the streets of Munich, you will surely soak in a years worth of Bavarian gemuchlichkeit today. At the end of your day, its just a short ride back to Garmisch and another comfortable evening at the Edelweiss Lodge and Resort.

Sunday: Return

After breakfast your coach will depart to bring you back to Kaiserslautern.  Rather than a raucous party bus, your Sunday return trip should be a calm and quiet return ride to Rheinland-Pfalz.   Spend your Sunday relaxing on the bus as it brings you back to Kaiserslautern.
