Spend the day bicycling the hills of the Ruwer river valley in the Hochwald!

The Ruwer-Hochwald “Train Trail” is a bicycle trail on a former train track. The 50 km bike path, one of the longest “Rail-Trails” in Germany, will lead you through many different terrain types with plenty of rest stops and diversions along the way. After you drive yourself to the start in Hermeskeil you will ride through forests and meadows, continually approaching the traditional vineyards and taverns on the sides of the Ruwer river. Your mostly downhill route will lead you to the village of Schweich, on the banks of the Mosel River, where you can enjoy fine Reisling wines and delicious meals. You can ride on any bike you choose, or try out one of our e-bikes.
