Estimated Itinerary
Thursday: Check in
After settling into your seat you will lean back and relax while your comfortable coach whisks you away to the Costa Maresme, just up the coast from Barcelona. Don’t forget the essentials for your overnight ride. Blankets, pillows, power banks and drinks will all help make your journey to Spain more enjoyable.
Friday: Free Day
You will know that summer has begun when you begin to explore the beaches and promenade of Santa Susanna. Your four star resort complex, on the beach front promenade, will be your home base for a weekend full of fun in the sun. Whether you spend your time on the waterfront, or stay at the hotel enjoying its pools and spas, your weekend is likely to revolve around the water. At the countless water sports centers around Santa Susanna, you will find JetSkis, paddleboards, kayak and other boat rental, SCUBA diving and much more. The waterfront is home to countless restaurants and bars with varied entertainment options for everybody, while the train station will allow you easy access to a short train ride to return to Barcelona, the party town of Lloret de Mar or the medieval village of Girona.
Saturday: Free Day or Barcelona
Saturday features a tour of Barcelona. Since its redevelopment in preparation for the 1992 Olympic Games, Barcelona has become the worlds 12 most popular city destination in the world, and the 5th most popular city in Europe for travelers. From the Columbus monument at the waterfront to the lookout terraces at the mountain top Parc Montjuic, the Catalan capital is packed with UNESCO World Heritage sites, churches and historic buildings. Ornate and fantastic Catalan Modernista style buildings can be seen throughout the city, the most famous designed and built by Antoni Gaudi, including the ornate and world famous Sagrada Familia church.
Sunday: Free Day or Montserrat Monastery
Today you can choose between the mountains or the beach. The Abbey of Santa Maria de Montserrat, perched over 4000 feet above the valley floor on the “Serrated Mountain”, is an important cultural heritage site for the youth of Catalonia. People often make overnight hikes to the monastery to watch the sunrise and enjoy the views which on a clear day can reach all the way to the island of Mallorca.
