Your Swiss Christmas Market Shopping Spree begins in Montreux, on the shores of Lake Geneva where you will find a Christmas Market with gorgeous views of the Swiss Alps.  160 stands, a giant Ferris wheel and culinary specialties will entertain you until Santa flies his sleigh over the market in the evening. After dinner you will check into a 4 star mountain hotel for an chance to recharge your batteries and prepare for even more shopping and sightseeing on Sunday.

After breakfast on Sunday, you will be whisked away to 2 more Christmas Markets, both of which have scored their places on European Best Destinations list of the top 20 Christmas Markets in Europe: Bern made the list in 2018 and Basel which was ranked the Second Best Christmas Market in Europe for 2022.  In Bern, the highest steeple in Switzerland and the 15th-17th century townhouses will provide a wonderful backdrop to the market and the White Swiss Gluhwein will keep you warm. You will wrap up your shopping spree in Basel, where 180 chalets make up one of the largest and most beautiful Christmas Markets in Switzerland.

Deadlines and Discounts:

  • Early Bird Discount expires on Tuesday, October 1
  • Empty hotel rooms will be cancelled on Tuesday, October 15

ODR suggests making a reservation at the hotel restaurant in advance as it is regularly filled to capacity and sold out.  There are no other dinner options within walking distance of the hotel.  

Cancellation Terms: 

  • 10% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or prior to Tuesday, October 22
  • 35% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Wednesday, October 23
  • 55% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Friday, November 8
  • 70% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Friday, November 17
  • 100% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Friday, November 21
  • In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.
