Christmas Day - Holiday Observance

In observance of the U.S. Christmas holiday on Thursday, December 25, Family and MWR facilities may be closed or have modified hours. Please refer to the facility pages for hours of operation.

The first artificial Christmas trees were made from goose feathers dyed green. In 19th-century Germany, people crafted these feather trees as a way to preserve forests, since real evergreens were being cut down at an unsustainable rate. These early “eco-friendly” trees eventually evolved into the modern artificial trees we know today!

As we reflect on this season of gratitude, Family and MWR extends warm wishes for a safe and happy holiday to our entire community.
