Your Norwegian adventure begins in Bergen, a city of charming wooden houses, a UNESCO World Heritage site at Bryggen wharf, and a lively fish market. During your free time in Norway’s second-largest city, you can ride the funicular up Mount Fløyen for panoramic views, visit Edvard Grieg's home, or simply wander the cobbled streets.
After two nights in Bergen, you will be enchanted by a once-in-a-lifetime travel opportunity which can be described as one of the most beautiful travel days imaginable. Starting with a breathtaking fjord cruise through the dramatic Nærøyfjord, known for its towering cliffs and waterfalls and continuing on-board the iconic Flåm Railway, one of the steepest train lines in the world, you will enjoy a day of incredible views and stunning scenery before arriving in Oslo on the scenic Bergensbanen.
In Oslo, Norway's dynamic capital, you'll see highlights like the futuristic Oslo Opera House, the thought-provoking Vigeland Sculpture Park, and the historical Akershus Fortress. You'll also have time to visit museums like the Viking Ship Museum or the Munch Museum, or to simply stroll along the waterfront. On your final morning, you'll have one last chance to explore Oslo before your return flight.
Forget long overnight bus rides that need to turn around as soon as you get to Norway in order to get back to Germany on time. Army Outdoor Recreation flies you there and back, allowing you to enjoy all the time you saved. Our included airport shuttle will pick you up at your choice of Pulaski or Smith Barracks, and both locations have plenty of free, on-post parking. Thursday: Fly to Bergen
Forget the hassle of airport parking or expensive shuttles to Frankfurt Airport. Army Outdoor Recreation's airport shuttle is included in your package, picks you up at your choice of either Pulaski or Smith barracks, and takes you directly to the terminal. This afternoon, you'll arrive in Bergen, Norway’s second largest city, where you'll take a a captivating city tour before checking into your hotel. This initial exploration will introduce you to Bergen's charming wooden houses, its historic Bryggen wharf (a UNESCO World Heritage site), and the vibrant atmosphere of its fish market. In Norway, the sun doesn't set in May until late, and your evening will be spent enjoying Bergen’s unique ambiance.
Friday: Bergen
Today is yours to to explore Bergen at your leisure. You might choose to ascend Mount Fløyen via the funicular for panoramic views of the city and its surrounding archipelago, or delve deeper into its maritime history at the Hanseatic Museum. Perhaps a visit to Edvard Grieg's home at Troldhaugen, or simply wandering through Bergen’s narrow, cobbled streets, discovering hidden gems and local cafes, will fill your day. The evening offers another opportunity to savor Bergen's culinary delights before your second overnight stay.
Saturday: Bergen to Oslo - Fjord Cruise and Flam Express
Prepare for a day of breathtaking natural beauty as you embark on a scenic fjord cruise from Bergen to Flåm. Your journey will take you through the dramatic Nærøyfjord, a UNESCO-listed fjord renowned for its narrow passages, towering cliffs, and cascading waterfalls. Upon arrival in Flåm, you'll have free time to enjoy this charming village, perhaps visiting the Flåm Railway Museum or simply soaking in the serene environment. In the afternoon, you'll board the iconic Flåm Railway, one of the world's steepest standard-gauge railway lines, offering incredible views as it climbs to Myrdal. From there, you'll connect to the Bergensbanen, cross the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, and descend into Oslo in the late evening. This spectacular train journey is often described in guidebooks and travel shows as one of the experiences that should be on everybody’s bucket list, and you will agree as you soak up the spectacular scenery in the long evening hours. Sunday: Oslo
Today is dedicated to discovering Oslo, Norway's vibrant capital. A city tour will familiarize you with Oslo’s key attractions, which include the futuristic Oslo Opera House, the thought-provoking Vigeland Sculpture Park, and the historical Akershus Fortress. You'll also have free time to explore areas of personal interest, perhaps visiting world-class museums like the Viking Ship Museum or the Munch Museum, strolling along the lively Aker Brygge waterfront, or enjoying the city's modern architecture and green spaces.
Monday: Return to Germany
Your return flight to Germany takes off this evening, allowing you full day to continue exploring Oslo. This is your last chance to squeeze in one last attraction or to enjoy a relaxing day in the Norwegian capital.

Cancellation Terms:
- 10% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or prior to Friday, March 13
- 35% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Saturday, March 14
- 60% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Monday, April 20
- 70% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Wednesday, April 29
- 95% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Wednesday, May 6
- 100% cancellation fee for all cancellations made on or after Thursday, May 14
- In the event that a customer cancellation results in a fee charged to Outdoor Recreation, regardless of the date of or reason for that cancellation, the total sum of those fees will be passed along to the customer.
