Baltic Sea Capitals

Sail the Baltic Sea to the maritime metropolises of Stockholm, Helsinki and Tallinn!

#

Travelling the Baltic Sea by ship is an amazing way to experience the “White Nights”, the longest days of the year.  Even though the sun will be reluctant to set as you sail overnight from country to country, you will want to get some sleep on board for when you get off the boat and explore each of these Capital cities. Guided tours of Stockholm, Tallinn and Helsinki will familiarize you with each seaside city before providing you with free time for additional explorations or shopping. Sample a traditional Smörgåsbord in Stockholm, taste smoked elk and reindeer in Helsinki, and brave black pudding and beetroot salad in Tallinn. Two overnights in each city will give you the chance to see, try, and do it all!

The White Nights only happen in June and spaces are extremely limited. This trip is expected to sell out fast. Reserve your Baltic Sea White Nights Experience with Kaiserslautern Outdoor Recreation today.

Estimated Itinerary

15 June: Kaiserslautern to Tallinn

After your morning flight to Estonia, you be checking into your four star hotel in Tallinn’s city center in the early afternoon.  Estonia’s capital city has almost 1000 years of history all within walking distance.  The Old Town is one of the best preserved medieval cities in Europe and the entire center is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

16 June: Tallinn

This mornings tour of Tallinn will familiarize you with the medieval city center which was once the northernmost member of the Hanseatic League.  Controlled and influenced by many larger nations throughout its long history, including Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Russia before regaining its independence in 1991, the smallest capital of the Baltic Nations has undergone significant redevelopment since the Soviet era and is now a hip and thriving modern city which managed to keep its historic medieval center.

17 June: Tallinn to Stockholm

After a final morning in Tallinn, you will be perfectly positioned to walk to the Port of Tallinn and board the MS Baltic Queen for an overnight sailing to Stockholm.  Your hotel’s location adjacent to the seaport will make in easy to spend the morning in Tallinn before boarding ship and setting sail in the afternoon.  Your floating hotel has all the amenities to keep you entertained during your overnight crossing of the Baltic Sea.

18 June: Stockholm

To get to Stockholm, the Baltic Queen will have to navigate the Stockholm Archipelago, a collection of over 20,000 islands.  You can watch this beautiful section of your voyage from the upper deck in the bright sunlight of one of the longest days of the year before disembarking after breakfast.  Upon arrival in Stockholm, you will have a tour of the old city before checking into another centrally located hotel and two long days for you to explore the Swedish capital.

19 June: Stockholm

Today and tomorrow are yours to spend however you want.  Stockholm is full of summer time activities and the late sunset will allow you to pack your days full of entertainment, culture and excitement. Djurgården is Stockholm's museum island and is home to the Nordic Museum, the Vasa Museum, the Abba Museum, Skansen Open Air Museum, the Viking Museum, Grona Land Amusement Park and much more.

20 June: Stockholm to Helsinki

Your second at-sea overnight begins tonight when the Silja Symphony sets sail. This luxurious cruise ship was once the largest cruise ship permanently stationed on the Baltic Sea, and features an indoor promenade, multiple bars, restaurants and a huge tax free shopping store.  The ships many facilities and entertainment program will fill your evening hours until the sun briefly dips below the horizon around 1 a.m.

21 June: Helsinki

Spectacular views of Helsinki's city center will captivate you as your ship arrives in the downtown Port Olympia. A guided tour of the city will hit the highlights of Finland’s capital before checking into the final four star hotel of your week.  Today is the day Helsinki celebrates mid-summer, so make sure to have dinner reservations made early.  Many places will close early or sell out.

22 June: Helsinki

Helsinki is home to many beautiful and unique buildings and monuments and also has a very close relationship with the sea.  You are sure to enjoy your free day exploring “The White City of the North”.

23 June: Return flight to Frankfurt
